Concert and Girl Time with my Bestie (Weekend Recap)

So first things first...Its raining here in Houston, TX again! I love it! Especially while I work. I don't have to be out in it, I don't have to worry about getting wet. I just love the sound of it hitting my window at work.

Second,  I went to Dierks Bentley and Miranda Lambert concert Saturday with my bestie Amber! It was soooo much fun! Dierks is a serious hottie. OMG! The way he rocks that guitar and hold that microphone...ohh yumm...Ok Im done! lol...Sorry babe!

And Miranda, she always brings it! She is my favorite artist of all time. She tells the truth, she doesn't feel as though she has to "twerk" or show her chi-chis to make money. Girl can SAAAAANG live! Seriously, it was like listening to a different rendition of her songs on a CD. She is an amazing performer that really likes to have fun and tell it like it is! And I admire that about her.

I told Jeremy I would not mind at all if that's who Laynie looked up to. Because she is just acceptable in my book as a good role model. She's one of my role models, homegirl knows how to kick ass and take names! So you go Miranda! And please come back!

I was super excited to go to this concert. Jeremy was a little worried...me being 28 weeks and all. But overall it was safe! The weather was expected for Houston. Hot and MUGGY! Hellllloooo Humidity! But we had fun! Every year I try to listen or watch for when she is coming to town, and for the past three years I have missed it every time!

But I was more happy to be doing so with my best friend Amber! Her and I have known each other since we were about 13/14. She's my oldest friend (we've been the only ones to actually hang out and keep in touch through the years) and I wouldn't trade her for the world. We are total opposites! As she describes me I am a "fashionista", classy, always put together. She is plain Jane, hair in a pony(all the time) jeans and t-shirt, or workout clothes and tennis shoes and hardly any makeup. I am a bit reserved, until I start drinking...(sometimes) she is loud, and proud! She is in ya face, I am sit back and watch! But that's what makes us click I think! She is a sweetheart and is an awesome Nanny! She went to University of Texas, I went for two years to a community college! She has a degree, I do not. But she still loves me and I love her! We have been through a lot together! We even broke up for a few years...but we just cannot stay away from each other. She lives in Austin, TX and we usually only see each other once a year, but we talk all the time (she's texting me right now! haha) But since Laynie is coming, we have vowed to see each other much more often!

Amber and Me!

Laynie's first concert!

Well that's it for my weekend! Hope everyone is having a fabulous and blessed Monday!

Things that have been on my mind

Laynie
We all know that Laynie is the #1 person/thing on my mind! She's all I think about probably...85% of the day. Mostly because she's awake and kicking/moving around and I feel her so it's kind of hard not to notice her! haha..
But I also cannot wait until I get to actually hold her. Her being my very first baby I'm just super excited to be able to hold her, and snuggle with her and just love her so much! (12 more weeks tomorrow!!!)

May we be blessed so that we are able to bless others
I want to be able to tithe more than what I do presently at church. But Im just not able to. I also want to be able to donate more to great causes and such but I'm not able to. I do however do a once a year donation, but it's not as big as I would like for it to be. I want to be blessed just even a little bit more, so that Im able to bless someone else.

Running/getting back into shape after bebe is born
I am excited about getting to be able to run again after Laynie is born. I don't necessarily want to spend so much time in the gym like I was, but I would like to take up running...outside. I want to be out in the open. Jeremy and I have thought about cancelling our gym membership and getting one to a different facility. One that has more activities available and longer childcare hours so that in the days that we want to go play racquetball together or go swim, we'll have someone to watch her.

Decorating her room
I have finally narrowed down the color scheme for the furniture, and since I bought her dresser Saturday it makes it much more exciting to see it all coming together! we have 12 more weeks (tomorrow!!!)

Getting our room finished
Our room is the last room to be taken care of. We just need a few things but still. Those few things will probably wait till who knows when. Just because we take care of other things first.

Moving
Our lease is up February 1st. We go back and forth every week on weather or not we are going to move or stay for another 6 months or what...it's just so much to think about.

I need a  new safer vehicle
I do! Someone hit me July 30th and he lied (imagine that) and his insurance denied me that they would fix it. So now, I'm having to pay my deductible to get it fixed. Which is not even close to what the damages cost, however...its money I don't have to spare.

Childcare
To be honest, I have only been to one and it smelled like pee! And my motto id "If it smells like pee, it aint for me!" So I have two more that I can look at...Please pray that Im going to be able to find one and that I'll be ok with it.

Should I switch jobs and risk job-security so that I can spend more time with Laynie
My job has become somewhat of a huge mess. I had one girl put in her two weeks and she showed up once. Then I have this guy who is somewhat of an information controller for our company and he is a prick. Spends most of his time telling everyone his opinion of why things are wrong, and how messy (as in neat etc..) people are and what not. And my boss has gotten to this point of..well we're stuck in the mud now we might as well enjoy it. Ummm we have approximately 12 weeks until my actual due date...but thats only if I go full term. What if I dont, then what.

So I have thought about and prayed about some direction about my job. But as of yet, I have yet to know what Im supposed to do. And its nerve racking!

Insurance is so expensive
Jeremy has told me on many occasions that he would love for me to be a stay at home mom with an income-gaining hobby (which is what I really really want to do) but we just cant afford it. So...I am working basically to cover myself for the insurance and pay my car (note and insurance) Its pretty annoying. Like really.

These have been the things that have been on my mind periodically throughout the day. Not necessarily in that order, but still been thinking about them. I try so hard not to focus on my haves and have nots...

Which brings me to church service on Sunday. Pastor was talking about how we need to keep our focus on God and off of our circumstances. And how people hold grudges against God when they don't get what they want when they want it. It was a great service! It fired me up, and I was sad that Jeremy missed it. But If you want to listen to it for some lesson and encouragement click HERE for the link to my church. He puts his sermons on the podcast and you can listen as long as you have Internet for FREE! Who doesn't love free!?

I urge you to listen to it if you too are stuck on focusing on your circumstances and not on God.

And just because, this is my outfit today! I love it! I love the rocker look the best, I think I can pull it off because I like my hair wild, and my necklace is awesome too! I wish I could dress like this more often...we'll see!

I hope everyone has had a blessed week so far! It's almost over!!!!

Weekend recaps

This weekend was pretty relaxed. Jeremy had to work all weekend, and I just did my normal what I do when Im alone all weekend!

I cleaned! Like a cleaning freak!! Pregnancy-nesting I guess. But I scrubbed every-thang! and I was super satisfied, although it wore me out! Saturday after I got back from the grocery store and put the chicken noodle soup ingredients in the crock pot, I cleaned for about 2-3 hours...And it wiped me out! I had to take an hour nap just to be able to keep my eyes open the rest of the day. I guess bebe is needing me to rest more.
Thats one thing that I struggle with. Is needing to know when I need to just take a little break...

Im so go-go-go Im just not used to having to take a break. I feel like a realy fatty when I tell my husband I need to sit down and prop my feet up for a minute...I know Im not, but I get discouraged, big time.

This weekend I also have begun the process on a few projects for Laynie's room.

So I wanted an antique dresser to also be a changing table for her room. And so Friday I took to Craigslist. I knew I had a few bucks left over this week and decided to get started, or at least look. I found a few that I absolutely loved.
Two were just too far away, and personally over priced.
The last one that I looked at before I decided to give up my search for the weekend, was this one...

When I find things like these, or have ideas of what I want, I dont look at what they are now, I look at the potential product they will become. Here is my inspiration for that dresser/changing table.

Pertty huh? I want all the furniture to match. Her crib is antique white, and her bedding is pink, grey and white. So I wanted all the furniture to either be antique white, or grey, or both. I also got a daybed that was at my Dad's house not being used, so I decided to bring that in so that Brayden can sleep in it, instead of on the huge queen bed he sleeps on now. It takes up waaay too much space after putting in the crib and dresser. So the daybed is perfect. And it also works for me; which is the main reason why I got it. But I started thinking about how she will probably want to feed at night, or what if she's fussy, or sick...And I dont want to wake Jeremy by turning on all the lights, just to bring her back to our room. So on those nights, I can just lay with her in there. Or take naps with her, and play with her in there too.
The day bed's beautiful frame is grey, so it worked out perfectly! I'll get you a pic up as soon as we put it up, which will be by Friday!

I also started on her wall decor. I was going through Pinterest on Thursday and found some inspiration for pretty wall decor.

5 Inch Monogram Cake Topper Decorated with Pearls and Swarovski Crystals in Any Letter.... I like this topper, combines the pearls and rhinestones. Would it be too much pearl/rhinestones with the cake design I like? Also, I would prefer it in the three initial combo.

I loved this, but I couldn't find the cursive L, so I went with a cute capital L.
I started working on it yesterday evening before Jeremy got home from work, and then we blasted out to Kemah to spend some time with my family.

So I will be finishing it up tonight, and will probably hang it soon. But I love it, I think its classy!

Here is also the inspiration for her curtains that I will be making.

I wont be using the turquoise, but a great instead, and then finding a grey/white pattern for the bottom panel.

Love these colors together

Lastly, on Thursday I went to Kohl's to go look at baby stuff and see if I could find a cute skirt, or pants or something. So I can across this skirt. And I fell in love. I put it on Instagram to see if others agreed, and they did! I will get brave enough one day to actually wear it out!

I also got Laynie a cute shirt! Her daddy loves it!

Last night we met up with my family at Kemah, talked for a little bit and then went home. I dont get to see them often because all of our schedules are so busy, but I like it when we're able to carve out time to get together.
L to R Jeremy, Me(and Laynie) My older sister Nicole, my younger sister Alex and my step-dad Rickie.

Im the silly/wild one, she's the conservative one...until she gets her Moscato! hahaha!

I hope everyone has had a blessed and breezy Monday. The weather here today is absolutely beautiful! I am completely grateful for it today!

27Weeks!!!!! 13 Weeks to go!

I promise I have not died! lol....

I have been soo unimaginable busy yall! At work we had a girl turn in her two weeks, then the last week she just popped in periodically on wichever days she chose, and it put me having to work double jobs.. ughh...
Then we started a few new church groups this week with our church. Can I just say, that I think that our church is amazing! Not just because I am so filled, inspired, rejuvinated, energized for God every time I enter those doors. But also because our Pastor is amazing. He is sooo on fire for God, his messages are so heartfelt, and meaningful and true, honest and touching. Sometimes it brings me to tears...and Im not the only one in house crying! Also because our church offers whats called Fusion Groups. Fusion Groups are basically bible study on different topics that everyday people go through. For example Jeremy and I are in the Becoming a Contagious Christian, Bringing peach and Harmony to the Blended Family. But there is also groups for just men and just women, or groups for couples such as a class that Jeremy and I are going to take later in the year called The Art of Marriage. Starting October 28th I will be in the Proverbs 31 Woman class. Which I am very excited about! I love Proverbs 31 Ministries.

So I have been work busy, church busy, and life busy. We only have 13 weeks left! ahhhh!!! I get more and more excited with every week that passes!

My baby shower isnt until October 26th...only about a month away, so I am still trying to wait to buy stuff...But I just need to know what Im going to need. I am still in search of an old antique dresser to redo for the changing table/storage until she's older to use as a dresser. We havent found one yet, but I plan on going to some garage sales this weekend, because we need to get started on that project.

Im sticking to buying her nightgowns for now!

Also on another great/busy note...Jeremy got a new job! Im sor excited about it. His first week was this week. He started Monday. And I tell you our prayers were seriously answered. He cam home all this week in the best mood! He's so much more loving, relaxed and just not stressed. He doesnt talk about work in his sleep anymore. He actually doesnt talk in his sleep at all anymore! Which is the best sign...that means that he's sleeping and not stressed out! So yay!

27Week Update of the bebe!

Laynie is growing, and moooooving. She moves about 85% of the day and about 50% of the night. She was not shy at out 26 week appointment. This is the first time that she let Dr. Gayle actually hear her heartbeat. She usually had her back to her and far away. But Tuesday she was facing her, and right out on top. So the Dr. smiled when she heard it. Nice and strong and beautiful!

I am thirsty, like all the time! I guzzle water like a mad person. When I wake up in the morning, I just feel like throughout the night I dried up and need about a gallon of water to suffice. I am not craving anything weird. I mostly want comfort food. Such as pizza, I could go for some macaroni and cheese! Grilled Cheese would definately satify me! Other than that, I've been pretty solid. Monday I had some pain, but I took a warm bath and it went away. Talked to Dr about it and she said it was probably contractions. But that when I feel that way to find a way to relax; warm bath, nap etc and just take it easy until it passes. But if it lasts for more than a day to call the emergency number. So hopefully it will stop. My glucose and blood test came back, and NO DIABETES!!! And also she said my blood count is even perfect! So we are so so healthy! Its so good to know that I am so healthy with my bebe!

So thats about it! I'll try to keep more in touch next week. But who knows...

6 Months!!!!

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII am soo HAPPY today! Today I am 6 months! 24Weeks people! Only 3 more months to go! Yaya! This chick is excited!

I love feeling her kick me inside, BUT I would love to have her here so that I can snuggle her little baby newborn neck!

I have been checking some more baby clothes out online; just because I'm still kind of terrified to start buying a lot of clothes...Especially because no one really has winter clothes on sale. Although, Carter's has their Labor Day sale this weekend... Everything is 50%. Which, I found her coming home outtie!

Okay, it's kind of blurry; but it soo adorable! Especially with the panty hose and the beanie! Not to mention the sparkly shoes. We might actually skip the sparkly shoes...but still. How adorable! And remember, it will be colder when I have her, so this outfit is actually appropriate for the season!

Gosh, Im just so ready to meet this little girl. I cant wait to hear her coo, and oohh and aaahh and cry and want me and want her daddy! My goodness. I first found out I was pregnant when I was only 4 weeks along. So a month ago, this pregnancy felt like it was dragging on, like it was never going to end! But this past month has just flew by! And we are soo close to meeting her! As of last Monday the 26th we have two months until we get to go again for the 4D ultrasound one more time. So that we're actually able to see her face, and hands this time. Last time; which was about 3 weeks ago she is still so tiny and still forming. Her ears haven't fully developed yet either, so I can't wait to see who she looks like the most. My sweet little girl.

And how cute are these polka dot tights from Zulily?!! When I went to buy them, they were sold out =( BUT I requested that they notify me when they become available again. It reminds me of when I used to wear my polka dot tights with my cut off shorts over them. My mom used to let me dress the way I wanted. And when I was younger, I was always in my tights and cut off shorts!

But her kicks and pushes are getting stronger and stronger. She wakes up early early! So I've been trying to adjust my schedule a little bit. I know that I need to prepare myself to wake up earlier, so this week everyday I have set my alarm 5 minutes earlier each day. I did pretty good. But I want to get back to where I wake up at 5:15 instead of 6:00. Eventually getting to where I wake up earlier; especially after I have her and get cleared to start working out again, then Jeremy and I will switch off on who gets to go to the gym in the mornings vs afternoons. Because I don't want to have her in daycare all day, and then take her to the gym daycare for an hour. That's just not fair! So I will only workout in the gym a couple of mornings a week, and the rest we will go walk/jog outside in the evenings.

Her crib; if you can remember what it looks like will be delivered Saturday!!! I'm so excited! I'm even more excited that Jeremy changed his mind about the nursery! Yay me!! I get to decorate a nursery now!!! Yayayayayayaaaaaya! lol.. See, my endorphins are just making me sooo happy!

My 31 day challenge is still going strong! I am on Day 17 today, and well, I am so pleased with the results so far. Jeremy and I have gotten to where we get so caught up in these deep conversations that we forget what time it is, and end up going to bed late. Which to be able to spend such quality time with him is great. Just think, in 3 months it's going to get a little bit hectic! YIKES! But not really. I am prepared for it and very ready for it!

I hope that all of you have a very happy Labor Day weekend. You will not hear from me until after Tuesday, I got some plans for this weekend and will definitely do a weekend update when I get back! Be good all!

xoxo,

Day 14 with Chicken Spaghetti Goodness!!!

This mommy-to-be is tired this morning! Its not the baby, its Jeremy! He kept me up all night talking, talking, talking! We usually have these times where we just talk about everything under the moon. Usually these nights happen on Fridays or Saturdays when we don't have to get up extra early. But, I enjoyed it. I could listen to him talk (and I do) for days at a time. All because of his country boy accent. It's so thick and cute, I just love it! If I could record him talking to show you guys I totally would! But, Im not sure he would like that very much. Oh well...Maybe one day!

So last night I tried out a new recipe. Now, I love chicken spaghetti. I've only had it one other time, but that one time it blew my mind. I mean how could all these ingredients come together and look so gross, yet taste sooo amazing!??

So as I was on my way home last night, I remembered Mama Laughlin posted her SKINNier Chicken Spaghetti Recipe. So as I was walking into Kroger, I pulled it up! Gotta love technology people! I got all my ingredients and went home to give this new recipe a try! If you want a crack at the recipe yourself, I totally and completely recommend it! Jeremy LOVED it, and so did me and the baby! You can click HERE to get it!

See how gross it looks. Actually when I was mixing all up, as per instructions, I was getting kind of grossed out! I thought I wasn't going to be able to eat this! But then I put it in the oven and it smelled soooo good! How could I not eat this??

It was beyond DELISH! Jeremy said it tasted a little different than the chicken spaghetti that he's had, but I proudly mentioned that its a Skinnier version. He smiled and said it still tastes good for being "skinny"!

So the challenge is working out just fine! Seriously do not know how much more of a better wife I can be. I mean I'm not perfect, and sure I can do other things. But Jeremy is beyond happy and has gotten sweeter towards me and is making better efforts to make sure that my needs are met. Which really is wonderful. Those little notes, or texts that I send him throughout the day are working. I know that he cant text me back all the time, but he sees them. And even if it's just for a few seconds, he knows that I'm thinking about him and that's what keeps him going! I know so, because of the hug and kisses that I get when he walks in the door from work. Like he has been gone for days and missed me soo much. Last night he said that he missed me a lot while he was at work. Mondays are our hardest days, because we spend all weekend together. We hardly go any where without each other. I know that there are some wives out there that say they cant wait to have their "alone" time and wish their husbands away. But, when you and your husband's relationship becomes a different level; such as the one that we have progressed to, and your husband becomes your best friend, there isn't much you want to do apart. Maybe it is because I've put myself through this challenge. Or maybe it's because we're having a baby and that's bringing us closer. I'm not sure, but I can tell you that I become more and more grateful of him everyday, and my love for him gets stronger and stronger with each day that passes.

I'm soo full of love right now! Maybe it's all the baby hormones?!?!
Either way, I think its awesome! And I know it makes him feel great!

Happy Wife, Happy Life!

A new skirt from BabyBug Creations

Jeremy and I decided to surprise Brayden at his football practice and then afterwards he came home with us. We had fun at the practice together. Half of the kids played the previous year, annnd that's all that really knows anything about how to play football. The other half, including Brayden have no idea what they are doing. Sometimes its funny, other times its not. Jeremy gets a little embarrassed sometimes. He's such a competitive person, and so it makes his skin crawl sometimes that Brayden doesn't put in any effort to know what he's doing.
But Jeremy and I had good laughs, and we stayed positive even though it was HOT! On the way home we ordered Chinese, and got a RedBox DVD rental. I chose the most family/kid friendly movie they had. Ivan the Incredible. It was a great movie! I reccommend watching it. Its cartoon, so if you dont like those dont waste your time. But it was cute and totally age appropriate! Jeremy was very cuddly to me, like he has been the past few weeks. Im liking this softer side of him lately.

Saturday we woke up and I made our weekly staple Bacon, Eggs and Pancake Satruday!! Then we headed off to Brayden's last scrimmage game before the season starts. It was BLISTERING HOT.

Shirt: Ruffles with Love

Holy cow, I think steam was coming off of me! But my sister came out to support, we had loads of fun!

Then after the game we headed to Carter's to start shopping for Laynie! Times are still tight, so I didnt have much to spend; but I figured if we just start we the essentials (long sleeve shirts, pants, onesies and socks) we'll be ok! Plus Im sure everyone else has a TON of clothes to give her!

Purple: "Daddy and I agree, Mommy is the Boss!"

My sister bought the pink and the purple "boss" one! Jeremy wasn't on the same page we were at first, but he agrees!

Sunday was Sewing Day! I hemed all of Jeremy's work uniforms. I was tired of seeing loose strings, and him pulling up his pant leg just to walk! Arrgg! So i fixed him right up!
Jeremy was in a different mood, he was a little sad. His first time not taking Brayden to school on his first day, LadyBug not being here; which has only gotten harder and harder for us both. After almost 3 years of having to let the dog out, and feed her when we eat, and talk her on walks; it's just so weird when we get home. Me especially after I get home from work. She was the second thing I attended to when I walked in the door. And now, I feel almost guilty. Is that weird?

I feel like I've been going through the emotions of loss. At first I was Shocked, then Angry, then Upset and now Guilty. All the while missing my best friend.

Gosh I really miss her!

Jeremy asked me last night if I thought he was a pu$$* for being emotional about it. Of course NOT. She was our baby. We had her 24/7. We took care of her more than we take care of Brayden (because of Joint custody and the scheduled visitations bullshit etc...) So of course not. He is totally allowed to be like that. If not, I would be worried. But I tried to cheer him up a little, If you know what I mean! And it worked. I just hate seeing him like that. It breaks my heart to see him struggle through something. I know he has a lot on his mind, so today I packed him a big lunch. I know he likes it when he has a wide variety of things to snack on throughout the day! I've been sending him love texts all day and been praying for him as well. I just hope that things get better for him.

Over the weekend I also found Jeremy's wedding ring! We currently do not have rings, and so we are on the hunt for the perfect ones! Because I said I didn't want to go another year without one. Sooo, while I still search for the one I am just absolutely in love with, I have found his! And he loves this so Im excited!

Well heres to a better week! And hopefully to September being MUCH better than August!

And remember to:
